Hey daydreamers! I can’t believe that by the time this post is up, I’ll be heading to camp! Before we get started with the post, I wanted to let you know about the awesome collab Mary, Diamond and I are hosting! We wanted to celebrate the fourth of July, or Independence Day, in a big way and Mary came up with an awesome idea. Together, the three of us are hosting a blog tour!
Normally, blog tours are to introduce a new blog (I did one when Diary of a Daydreamer first launched, and it was super fun), but ours is going to be a little bit different! Each post will be about Independence Day, America, and mainly, the state you’re from (or your favorite if you’re not allowed to share)! I’m so excited to learn about all of the different states and share my favorite things about Texas with y’all.
And, of course, this tour is only for bloggers in the United States – although, if you’re from the UK or Australia or somewhere else, you can definitely still follow the tour to learn more about the USA and you can even do a post about your country (although not as part of the tour) 😉
So, how can you join us on the ultimate country-wide blog tour? Mary wrote up some helpful steps down below!
- To join, go to this doc and following the instructions.
- Re-blog this post to spread the word.
- Create your post, and add all the things you like about your state (or your favorite state!), fun Fourth of July traditions, facts about the state, favorite historical figures, quotes, and pretty much anything that has to do with America!
- Add the above graphic to your post.
- Tag your post with, #IndependenceDayBlogTour
- Add the list of names from the doc in step 1 at the end of the post.
- Post your post on July 4th! At any time, just make sure it’s on July 4th, Central Time.
Don’t forget to sign up using the doc linked in step 1! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mary or Diamond, since I’m going to be away from devices and unavailable to contact from the 28-July 4, (I might catch you today since I’ll be traveling there and still have my phone, but Mary or Diamond are your best bet!) And don’t forget to check out both Mary and Diamond’s posts, since theirs might have some extra info that I missed. Anyway, let’s get into the actual post!

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out Part 1 of this miniseries where I share what I’m planning to wear at camp! I changed a couple of the outfits since I got some new shirts, but it still gives you a pretty good idea of what I’ll be wearing! In this post, I’m going to be showing you what I’m bringing in my camp trunk!
Stuff not pictured:
- Toiletries, since I haven’t packed those yet
- Bedding, pillows, sleeping bag, blanket, etc.
- Underwear, because why would I put that on the internet and no one wants to see that
- Towels
- Personal hygiene stuff, like hand sanitizer and face masks if we need them
- My diabetes medicine and supplies, because that’s super boring lol
- All the stuff I’m forgetting 😛
This is what my trunk looks like! It’s the plastic kind and we got it from our friends who had an extra one. It’s kind of a light purple-y color, and I covered the top with a bunch of cute stickers from the camp store from past summers and other fun stickers!

The first thing I’m bringing is a bunch of extra clothing just in case! I’m using Ziploc bags to organize everything. I like using them because it keeps everything organized and they’re super durable, so you can reuse them!

Next, I’m bringing a bunch of friendship bracelet supplies, because of course I have to have them at camp! 😛 I printed out a bunch of patterns I want to do and glued them to notecards so I can use them at camp, and I have a clipboard, safety pin, and all my embroidery thread.

For free time, I’m packing some printer paper to draw on plus an activity book.

Next, I have two different PJs (which I almost forgot to pack! That would’ve been bad!). I got them last summer from Target, and there’s one orange jungle-theme and another one is blue/pink pool theme.

Next, I have a headlamp, flashlight, and lantern! There’s a rest time we call FOB (feet on bunk) where they turn the lights off in case anyone wants to sleep, and I never can so it’s helpful to have flashlights so I can read or make a bracelet.

I’m also bringing my favorite pencil case, which has my favorite brush pens ever, my favorite pens ever, and my favorite colorful Sharpies, plus my favorite pencils (I wonder why it’s my favorite pencil bag?? 😜)

And of course, I have to bring some books along for free time/bedtime! I’m bringing a devotional by Sadie Robertson called Live, which is amazing, and I just started the KOTLC series, and it’s pretty good so far!

I’m bringing my Bible, because every morning we do devotionals, and we also have Bible studies, worship time, and WOG (kind of like youth group)! Even if we didn’t, I would still want to bring it, since it’s important to me to read it every day. I just got the NLT Reflections Bible from Amazon in blue, and I love it so much! The one I was using is MSG, which I love, but I like NLT also! I like having the margins to take notes and do Bible journaling art.

Next, I’m bringing stuff to decorate my bunk with! Normally I decorate it with stuff sent in care packages, but since they’re not doing that this year, I’m bringing some of my own stuff. I’m packing a pop-pom banner/string thing, a cute yellow dreamcatcher, and two watercolor paintings I did.

I’m also bringing my favorite hoodie! It’s the Simply Southern tie-dye one and it’s so comfy and cute. Packing hack: Fold everything except the hood part, and pull the hood over the folded part and it’ll stay in a nice little bundle and save a ton of space!

Next, I have a Ziploc filled with stationery, tape, markers, and scissors, which for some reason I needed a lot of tape last year, so I made sure to bring a bunch again this time!

I’m probably the most excited about this item! I *finally* got film for my Instax Mini polaroid camera (I ran out like a year ago lol) so I’m going to bring it to camp to capture a ton of awesome memories for my bulletin board!

Next, I have a Ziploc full of all my swim stuff. I’m bringing three swimsuits I got from Amazon, and they”re super cute! All of them are one-pieces, and two are the same halter top, flowery design in different colors and the other is pink and yellow watercolor with cutouts on the sides. In the pool pouch, I have sunscreen, goggles, etc.

I also have a makeup bag with skincare stuff and brow makeup (because otherwise I literally have NO EYEBROWS but I probably won’t wear any makeup)

I also have a spiral notebook thingy that I really badly doodled over last year, but it still works lol, so I’m bringing that.
In their own bags, I have each outfit I’m going to wear! I rolled up undergarments and one sock into a little ball and put it inside of the other sock to keep it all together. If you want a closer look at the outfits, check out this post! I also have bags with theme day outfits.

I’m also bringing my grey Nike tennis shoes.

Finally, I’m bringing my journals! The top pink one is my prayer notebook for Bible study, the middle one I got at the camp store last summer and I write my cabinmates’ contacts in there, and the last one is my journal/diary!
Aaand that’s it! I’m (mostly) packed up and ready to go. I really hope you enjoyed reading this post, and don’t forget to join the 4th of July blog tour! Also, if you haven’t already, don’t forget to enter the summer goodies giveaway as well for the chance to win a cute prize package! I’ll probably be able to respond to comments today, but after that I won’t be, but I’ll be answering everything as soon as I get home! Love you guys and I’ll miss you! See you on Saturday for my post as well!

Hi Diamond! Unfortunately camp actually got rescheduled to be in 3 weeks because of COVID, so hopefully I’ll still be able to go then! I’ll talk a little more about it in my next post. 😀 I’m almost done with book 1 and I really like it a lot so far! That’s awesome!
