‘ello Daydreamers! (Haha, sorry, at camp we talked in a British accent 90% of the time and now I’m pretty much stuck that way. 😂) Anyways, I’m BACK with a super-special post for you guys! Today, I’m going to be showing you a *super cute* scrunchie hairstyle, featuring scrunchies from my friend Natalie’s brand new Etsy shop, TwoFifty Scrunchies! Stay tuned until the end for an amazing giveaway!

First off, I want to give a HUGE thank you to Natalie for sponsoring this post! Natalie runs TwoFifty Scrunchies, where she sells handmade and super affordable scrunchies! I’ve had a hard time finding low-cost scrunchies that are actually good quality – you can get them in bulk from Amazon, but they’re super flimsy and low-quality. On the other hand, some handmade scrunchies can be upwards of $10! Natalie’s scrunchies are not only handmade, incredible quality, and super cute, but they’re only $2.50 apiece and even less when you buy a pack!

Today I’m sharing a fun hairstyle using Natalie’s scrunchies! If you know how to Dutch or French braid, this should be a no-brainer, and if not, don’t stress! I’m awful at Dutch braiding on myself and this technique makes them look super good!

First, part your hair in a middle part if you haven’t already. The next step is to curl your hair! I’m using the curling iron from my Double Review: Francesca’s Scrunchies + $25 Curling Iron post! Obviously, if your hair is already curly you can skip this step. And if you’re looking for a heatless alternative, you can use my hair hack from this post!

Next, braid your hair like shown in the timelapse above. Don’t worry, I’m just about to break it down into steps to make it easier!

First, take a small section of hair from the front of your hairline.

Next, separate it into three equal sections and braid normally for just a few times.

Now you’re going to start adding in hair, like you would in a French or Dutch braid, except only add more hair to the section closest to your face! Then braid that section over (or under if you’re doing Dutch, like me). Now, a the other section is closest to your face. Add some more hair in and braid that over.

Keep on repeating until you’re all the way to behind your ear.

Then secure with an elastic and repeat on the other side!

Pull out baby hairs and tendrils from your hairline, and massage the braids a little bit to give them more volume. This makes the hairstyle look more messy and casual, but if you’re going for a sleek look I would keep it the way it is in the above pic.

Next, add a scrunchie on each side! With TwoFifty scrunchies, they’re super tight and secure so you might not even need a hair tie under it.

The last and optional step is to touch up your curls! My curls kind of lost their definition while I was braiding, so I re-curled my hair while it was in the ponytails.

And you’re finished! This hairstyle is super cute, looks complicated but is actually effortless, can be casual or dressed up, and looks great with any outfit! You can mix in match coordinating scrunchies (like the ones in the giveaway!) or use matching ones (the ones I used!)

Haha, you probably scrolled straight to this part, but props to you if you read the hair tutorial! Now, for the part you’ve all been waiting for: the giveaway! Here’s what prizes you’ll be getting this time.

  1. What a cute hairstyle and great tutorial!! I’m awful at braiding, but I’ve been working on it so hopefully soon I’ll have the courage to try it. 😛 And that giveaway sounds awesome!! Since my parents aren’t comfortable with me sharing my address online I sadly won’t be able to enter, but well wishes to all of the entries!! ❤ Have a fantastic day!
