Hey daydreamers! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a good pamper day. On the weekends you’ll probably find me with a bath bomb, face mask, and a candle, soaking up the good vibes. XD
It’s really important to put others before yourself, and it’s so rewarding to serve others. However, you can totally still indulge in a relaxing day to give yourself a nice break and reset for the week!
Often it’s hard to find a good time to do a “self-care day” since life is so busy. You really don’t have to do these things all at once – sometimes I’ll decide to have a long shower or do a face mask on a random Thursday! You can totally sprinkle these things throughout the week, take a nice afterschool break, or save it all for the weekend. It’s totally up to you!
I’m so excited for this post, so let’s get into the ideas for your relaxing day! Also, this post is inspired by Christina and Camera and Girls’ Life magazine. ๐

1. set the mood
Start by lighting a candle, putting on a cozy chill playlist (like the one from this post!), and changing into some comfy clothes! Leggings and an oversized sweatshirt are my favorites. If you want, you can unplug from your devices by putting your phone in a drawer or on silent.

2. bathtime!
In my opinion, there is nothing more relaxing than a soak in the bathtub! Not everyone is a bath person, but if that’s you, then go for it! I love Lush bath bombs, they make the water turn different colors and smell amazing. Lavender bath salt feels nice as well. You can play music or soak in silence, and get those bubbles going!

3. rinse off in the shower
After using products in the bath, it’s a good idea to rinse off in the shower. If you’d like, while you’re in there you can exfoliate or do some skincare! Taking a long shower is one of the best feelings ever, haha. Use a loofa for bonus points and put on lotion afterwards if you’d like. ๐

4. do a face mask
I’ve started doing a face mask before bed on Sunday nights, and it’s a great way to chill out and refresh! Plus, your skin is super smooth and glowy afterwards. I usually just use leftovers of those little face mask pouches, but I really want to get one that comes in a jar and you can use multiple times! You can also do a sheet mask. While I’m doing a face mask, I like to read a book or magazine.

5. skincare
I try to wash my face morning and night, but after doing a face mask I might do an extra cleanse! Try using a cold jade roller after rinsing off your mask with cleanser, it feels sooo good. ๐ I love using my super soft skincare headband while I do this and the mask!

6. stretch
As part of my New Year’s resolutions for this year, I’ve started stretching more often, and I always feel great afterwards! I like to follow along to Anna McNulty videos – she has some amazing ones for improving your flexibility and has beginner and advanced routines!

I had so much fun making this post! Sorry it’s a little shorter this week, but hopefully you enjoyed the post and it gave you some ideas for your own self-care day or how to incorporate it into your daily or weekly routine. Love you guys & I’ll see you next week!
This week’s shoutout goes to Lily! Thanks for commenting! โค
Do you have a self-care routine? Are you a bath person? Anything you’d add to this list?

Ooooooh, this makes me want to pamper myself now.

Reorganizing the silverware drawer because not one of your siblings knows how to sort the small forks from the large forks is self-care, right? xD
Your photos are always so gorgeous, Emmie!

I donโt think Iโm the same person youโre talking about๐thatโs just a code name I use. Kind of like Emmie uses that for her code name

Oh. I was thinking about Natalie from Taking The Cake/The AGSpot. For some reason I associate fortytwoish with her

Great tips! I think it’s really important to have mental self care too, like journaling or listening to music.

Thanks! I definitely agree, I’ve been getting into journaling lately and music is playing constantly in the background for me!
I was actually thinking of doing a post soon about having a nightly “quiet time” with both Christian things to grow your faith like a prayer journal and reading the Bible, and some self-care things like journaling and reading. Would you be interested in that?
