DIY Collage Wall (on a budget!)

Hey daydreamers! I just got back from camp last week, and it was so amazing! I got to do so many fun activities, meet new people, grow closer to God, and try new things. That’s why I’ve missed a couple of blog posts, since I was getting ready for camp/being at camp/recovering 😉 Super excited to be back though, and I can’t wait for today’s blog post!

Ever since I redid my room, I’ve been wanting a collage wall! I had a blank wall that needed filling up, and all the aesthetic collage walls I was seeing on Pinterest and in YouTube videos seemed like the perfect idea.

It took me awhile to finally get around to doing it, since I was looking at collage wall kits on Amazon and Etsy (they were all about $15). I didn’t really find ones where I liked all the pictures, so I figured, why not make my own? That way I could choose exactly the pictures I wanted!

I’m SO happy with how it turned out! I thought it would be fun to show you guys how I made my own collage wall for $3.50, so that you guys can get some inspiration for your own. Let’s get into it!

First, I made a Pinterest board to figure out the pictures I wanted to use. (Here’s the link to my board, if you want to use any of these pictures!) I would recommend figuring out what your color scheme is first – mine was pink, beige, and peach with a little bit of green for a boho feel.

Some color schemes that could be really cute could be different shades of blue, different shades of yellow, all nuetrals, a sage green one, or lavender…there’s a ton of different options!

Then I found pictures that matched my theme – I searched for things like “Christian quotes”, “boho wallpapers”, and “beach aesthetic”. 🙂

Something I found helpful was using the app PicCollage that automatically puts all your photos together in a collage. This made it easy to see how all the pictures worked together, and which ones I wanted to use!

Next, I ordered the 4×6 photo prints! I used Walgreens, and they were ready in under an hour or something like that, so that was pretty nice. I got 20 pictures, which should’ve been $7.00, but I found a coupon code that made it $3.50! (The code was ITSALL50, but I think it expired Saturday July 17th.)

Some of the pictures on my Pinterest board I wasn’t able to use, since they didn’t work as a 4×6 or weren’t good enough quality, so I just found similar ones and used those instead.

I think the photo prints turned out pretty good! Matte probably would’ve looked better, but it was a lot easier to just get glossy ones.

Next, I laid out all the pictures on the floor to figure out how I wanted to put it. This part was really fun for some reason!

To attach the photos to the wall, I just used painter’s tape. It doesn’t damage the wall or anything, which is nice!

the final product!

This is the finished product! I’m so happy with how it turned out, and super glad that I decided to finally do this! It ended up being super easy and super fun. It’s a really nice focal point of my wall and just matches my aesthetic perfectly! My favorite thing about doing it myself was that I got to choose pictures that matched my room perfectly! It’s super relaxing to look at and definitely adds to my room.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and that it was helpful! I hope everyone has a great week, and thanks for reading! Bye guys! 🤍
