Hey daydreamers! You guys loved my 2021 time capsule post, and I loved writing it! I thought it would be a great idea to start doing monthly recaps, and you guys seemed to agree in the survey, so here we are!
January was full of some amazing memories! Obviously these are just the highlights: January was far from perfect, but isn’t every month? I’ll be sharing some of my favorite books and songs from the month as well! Here we go!
Hey daydreamers! I’m alive! Sorry that I disappeared for a few weeks! I have been EXTREMELY busy for the past month or so. Between school, cheer, friends, and ballet (especially with Nutcracker coming up, I’m at the studio 7 days a week), I’ve had almost no time to blog. I might not be able to be as consistent with blogging as I was in the summer, since free time = nonexistent right now. 😛
For today’s post, I thought it would be fun to share my playlist of the month for October – it’s full of cozy vibes and some current favorite songs, so I’m super happy with it! – as well as some fun fall aesthetics and a mini life update to catch up with you guys. Let’s get into it! All of these photos are from Pinterest.
Hey daydreamers! Today’s post is super fun, and I’m really excited for it! I’ve been wanting to do a review of SOUR ever since it came out back in May, but I guess I never got around to it. I love all the songs on it, and I’ve listened to it all summer. XD
Recently I saw a video with outfits inspired by each song on the album, and I thought that was a super fun idea for a blog post! I’ll try to list where I got each item from. Let’s get right into it!
I really hope that you guys enjoyed this post! It was super time-consuming, haha, but it was really fun to get creative with the outfits! My favorite that I would actually wear is probably the one for hope ur ok, and the ones I think match the song the best are deja vu and good 4 u.
Reminder: don’t forget to enter the giveaway! I’ve partnered up with Graphics by Josie to giveaway a free custom digital portrait, and it closes September 10!
Hey daydreamers! I’ve been so excited to do a post like this, because I always make a summer playlist the second school is over In this case, my best friend and I made it over FaceTime before school was even out yet. 😛 I also made a little collage from Pinterest like I’ve done in my other playlist posts for the *summer vibes*.
Let’s get into it! These photos are from Pinterest unless I say otherwise.
Hey daydreamers! Can you believe that it’s March already?? A year ago this month, the world shut down, which is crazy to think about how everything’s been going on for so long. I had kind of a slump when it came to covid last month, but it feels like things are looking up now, which is super exciting.
Back in January I did a similar post to this where I shared a playlist filled with some of my favorite songs at the moment and a collage that matched the mood/aesthetic of the month and playlist. I liked that post so much that I ending up making playlists for February and March too! I thought I’d share the March playlist for this week’s post, along with an aesthetic collage that reflects the transition from winter to spring and contains a little motivation for your weekend. 🙂
I actually use Apple Music for listening to music, but a follower had an awesome idea to create a Spotify account to share the playlists so I don’t expose my Apple ID! So I kidnapped my mom’s Spotify account (with permission lol), so y’all can listen to the playlist on there. Oh, and I don’t own any of these pictures: they’re all from Pinterest. Let’s get into it!
I know that I literally say this in every single post, but this post was seriously so fun to make! It was super relaxing to curate the collage, and I’m lowkey obsessed with this playlist. Let me know some of your current favorite songs, because I listen to my monthly playlists 24/7 and love making them longer with new music I haven’t heard before!
Also, if you want to save any of these pins, check out my (recently updated) Pinterest account! Is anyone else excited about the new month?
THIS WEEK’S SHOUTOUT GOES TO Maggie Bryan from the nightingale! Her blog is amazing and she came up with the awesome idea to make a spotify playlist. Thank you so much for commenting!
What do you think of the playlist? Excited for the new month? Have you listened to any of these songs? Any music recommendations?
PS – I almost forgot, I turned the collage into a phone wallpaper as well! Feel free to use these on your phone but please give credit if you share. Thanks!
Hey daydreamers! Before the regularly scheduled post, I have a few super fast announcements to make. 🙂
First, if you’re in the reader, I redesigned the blog a little bit! I thought it would be fun to freshen up the fonts and graphics a lil’ bit for 2021, and I’m super happy with it! If you’re in the reader, you can click here to check it out 😉 Also, I redid my Pinterest account to match the new blog design, so make sure you’re following that as well.
I also thought it would be fun to do a follower shoutout at the end of each post, so I’ll be picking someone from the comments of last week’s post to link to their blog or mention their name! Okay, props to you if you actually read that, and now we’ll get into the post XD.
Hey daydreamers! GUYS, CHRISTMAS IS SO CLOSE!! *runs around screaming Deck the Halls* I’m back for part 2 of my evermore review/reaction! I’m going to be tackling the last of the songs on the album. Let’s get right into it!
coney island
“i’m on a bench in coney island / wondering where did my baby go? / the fast times, the bright lights, the merry go / sorry for not making you my centerfold.”
This one has a grey-skies kind of feeling for some reason? It has that forlorn, wistful feel, and it’s filled with the amazing vocals from Taylor and the National. The lyrics are sad and regretful – “did i close my fist around something delicate / did i shatter you?” Once again, this one isn’t my favorite one, but it’s so beautiful and haunting that it’s definitely up there!
ivy
“ooh, i can’t, stop you putting roots in my dreamland / my house of stone, your ivy grows / and now i’m covered in you.”
For a little bit, this song was my favorite one on the album, but I think I’ve changed it to willow. I still do really like the tune, and it’s really catchy. I like how it’s a little more upbeat, and it’s really pretty.
cowboy like me
“takes one to know one / you’re a cowboy like me / never wanted love, just a fancy car.”
This one has a country feel to it, which I like! It’s a chill kind of song that I would put on while doing a face mask or blogging. “and you asked me to dance / but i said, “dancing is a dangerous game” is another favorite lyric!
long story short
“and i fell from the pedestal / right down the rabbit whole / long story short it was a bad time”
For some reason, the tune from this one reminds me of the last great american dynasty from folklore. It also has an Alice and Wonderland feel for some reason? I like the tune of this one, it’s a happier one with amazing lyrics. I definitely like other ones better, though.
marjorie
“what died didn’t stay dead / what died didn’t stay dead / you’re alive, you’re alive in my head”
This one I was really confused about at first, but then I figured out that Marjorie is Taylor’s grandmother, and everything made sense. XD I really like listening to this one, and it’s such a sweet tribute to her grandmother!
closure
“yes, i got your letter / yes, i’m doing better / i know that it’s over / i don’t need your closure.”
This one is not the most memorable one on the album – to be honest, I kind of forgot about it? I’m not a huge fan of the instrument at the beginning, I don’t know how to describe it lol. I don’t really like how they added the effects to some of her vocals, either. Other than that, I really like the lyrics for this one.
evermore
“and i couldn’t be sure / i had a feeling so peculiar / that this pain would be for / evermore.”
When I saw that this song was featuring Bon Iver, I was really hoping for a sequel to exile. Even though it isn’t, this title track is a really calm and pretty way to finish off the album. It is a little sleepy, but the vocals are so amazing and it has such a cool meaning! I love the lyric change at the end to “i had a feeling so peculiar / that this pain wouldn’t be for / evermore.” The harmonies are also really pretty.
Overall thoughts: I really like the evermore album, and I think it was an awesome surprise for her fans during a lonely winter! However, I definitely prefer folklore to this one. The other album had stronger songs as a whole, but evermore had a few really good songs and the rest sounded very similar to each other.
What do you think? Did you prefer evermore or folklore? What’s your favorite song from each album?
See y’all tommorow!

Hey daydreamers! Ahhh, how is it possible that we’re already halfway through Blogmas?! I can’t believe we’re so close to Christmas! This post isn’t very Christmas-y, but I hope you enjoy it anyway 🙂
I’ve been a Taylor Swift fan since, like, forever, and like everyone else, I was so surprised when she dropped Evermore last week! I thought it would be fun to listen to each song and share my thoughts on every one. This isn’t my first time listening to it (haha, I’ve listened to it a ton!) but this will be interesting! I’m also listening to the clean version, and I’m going to do the first few songs today and the rest tomorrow. Let’s get into it!
willow
“life was a willow and it bent right to your wind…”
This one is definitely a standout on the album, and I really like this one! It’s sleepy and mysterious, just like a willow tree. I didn’t really like the music video, but I loved this song and it keeps getting stuck in my head haha. It does get a bit repetitive at the end, but the melody is so beautiful it definitely makes up for it! This one might be my favorite.
champagne problems
“because i dropped your hand while dancing / left you out there standing / crestfallen on the landing / champagne problems”
I thought I wouldn’t like this one (mainly because the title included champagne), but this one’s giving me this is me trying vibes. The piano melody is really simple but pretty, and I like how the lyrics tell a vivid story. I really like the bridge: “but you’ll find the real thing instead / she’ll patch up your tapestry that i shred.” At first I was confused what it meant, but I read something that it was about a relationship where one is planning to end it and one brought a ring. This one isn’t my favorite, but it’s a really cool song that I liked a lot.
gold rush
“i don’t like that falling feels like flying ’till the bone crush / everybody wants you / but i don’t like a gold rush.”
This one kind of sounds the same as the other ones, but it’s; a little more upbeat. I really like the lyrics to this one, and it’s pretty catchy! I like the nod to her other album: “my mind turns your life into folklore”. This one was my favorite for a little bit, but it keeps changing haha.
’tis the [darn] season
“and wonder about the only soul who can tell which smiles I’m faking / and the heart i know i’m breaking is my own.“
Okay, this one is one of my least favorites just because it has a word I don’t like in the title, and it’s a little bit mature. Most of the time I skip this one, but it’s actually really catchy haha. It’s about the same girl from a later song, dorothea, which I didn’t make that connection before and now it all makes sense, lol!
tolerate it
“tell me I’ve got it wrong somehow / i know my love should be celebrated / but you tolerate it.”
As all Taylor Swift fans know, track 5 is always the most vulnerable song on the album, and this one is no exception. This song is really beautiful, yet sad and melancholy, about giving someone unconditional love but all they do in return is tolerate it. The last part is my favorite, when she starts wondering about what would happen if she left the relationship, but it’s really sad when she ultimately doesn’t. This one’s kind of a downer to listen to, but it tells one of the best stories for sure!
no body, no crime
“i think he did it, but i just can’t prove it…“
Okay, when I first listened to this song, I did NOT like it. I thought it was really weird, and was super confused about what it was. I still don’t like this one that much, but it’s kind of growing on me. My mom likes it because it tells a story like an old country song, and I kind of agree. Still not my favorite, but I like it a little better than before as I”m listening to it before.
happiness
“there’ll be happiness after you / but there was happiness because of you / both of these things can be true.”
This is another one that I’m not the biggest fan of. Although the lyrics are pretty cool, the melody is kind of boring, and the background music is really sleepy. It’s the kind of song that you turn on and walk away from and do something else. The line “when a good man hurts you / and you know you hurt him too” is really good. This one is also pretty long.
dorothea
“hey dorothea, do you ever stop and think about me?”
I like this one! It’s got a fun, playful tune that reminds me a lot of Betty. Like I said above, it’s about the same girl in ’tis the [darn] season, and it’s not my favorite but not my least favorite. 😀My favorite part is “It’s never too late to come back to my side / the stars in your eyes / shined brighter in Tupelo / and if you’re ever tired of being known for who you know / you know, you’ll always know me.”
That’s all I’m going to be reacting to today! I hope that this was fun to read, and maybe if you haven’t listened to evermore yet, this inspired you to. I can’t wait for Part 2, I’ll see you tomorrow!
Have you listened to evermore? Which one do you like better, evermore or folklore? What’s your favorite Taylor Swift album? Do you listen to her?

Hey daydreamers! For today’s Blogmas, I have a super fun post planned for y’all! The amazing Mary Elizabeth from Middle Mary emailed me about a collab for each other’s Blogmas, and I was SO EXCITED about the opportunity! We came up with a Christmas-themed playlist swap featuring our favorite Christmas songs. Basically, we sent each other our top 15 holiday tunes for the other to react to and rate out of 10! Don’t forget to check out her post, where she reacted to and rated my Christmas playlist!
I LOVE this song! The artists are insanely talented, the tune is amazing, and it’s such a Christmas classic. It’s mesmerizing to listen to and I love Pentatonix!
This one is an oldie but a goodie! 😉 It’s a beautiful song and a classic for sure, but it’s a little slow and also really sad when you listen to the lyrics (in a good way). I don’t listen to a lot of songs like this, so this was really cool! Although it was a melancholy type of song, I definitely enjoyed listening to it!
As soon as this song comes on, I immediately think of my favorite Christmas tradition, which is driving around sipping hot chocolate while looking at Christmas lights with my family! New York also comes to mind for some reason. Love this song and the instant feeling you get from listening to it!
Everything about this song immediately makes me think of Christmas, and the singer is so talented! (Fun fact: I just discovered that she was only 13 years old when she recorded this. That’s crazy!)
Haha, this song definitely brings back memories of Christmas recitals! Another Christmas tradition for us is that we always watch The Grinch (the original version). I definitely don’t listen to this one regularly, though.
It’s kind of impossible to listen to this song without smiling! I love A Charlie Brown Christmas, and this song totally brings back memories and makes me feel really happy!
I love this song! I like the Amy Grant version a lot, but this one is really good too! Definitely another classic and one that I always love hearing and hum around the house all the time.
I know I keep saying this over and over again, but I love Hillson and this version! I’ve never heard this version before, but it’s so peaceful and relaxing.
Yessss, this song is my favorite! Like, is it even Christmas without Mariah Carey?
Rating: 11/10 😛
This was so fun! A huge thank-you to Mary for collaborating with me! I loved listening to your playlist and rediscovering some music that I love but haven’t listened to in a while. Once again, don’t forget to check out her post! See y’all tomorrow and Merry Christmas!!
What are your favorite Christmas songs? Do you like any of these songs?
