‘ello Daydreamers! (Haha, sorry, at camp we talked in a British accent 90% of the time and now I’m pretty much stuck that way. 😂) Anyways, I’m BACK with a super-special post for you guys! Today, I’m going to be showing you a *super cute* scrunchie hairstyle, featuring scrunchies from my friend Natalie’s brand new Etsy shop, TwoFifty Scrunchies! Stay tuned until the end for an amazing giveaway!
First off, I want to give a HUGE thank you to Natalie for sponsoring this post! Natalie runs TwoFifty Scrunchies, where she sells handmade and super affordable scrunchies! I’ve had a hard time finding low-cost scrunchies that are actually good quality – you can get them in bulk from Amazon, but they’re super flimsy and low-quality. On the other hand, some handmade scrunchies can be upwards of $10! Natalie’s scrunchies are not only handmade, incredible quality, and super cute, but they’re only $2.50 apiece and even less when you buy a pack!
Today I’m sharing a fun hairstyle using Natalie’s scrunchies! If you know how to Dutch or French braid, this should be a no-brainer, and if not, don’t stress! I’m awful at Dutch braiding on myself and this technique makes them look super good!
Hey daydreamers! I know I don’t normally post today, but I have a very exciting announcement for you all: today I’m revealing the winner of the giveaway!
The winner was chosen completely randomly from a random name picker website. But before we reveal the winner of our giveaway to kick off our email list, let’s take a look at the prizes they won!
Hey daydreamers! If you remember, I’ve been dropping a few small hints here and there about a super-special post coming up. Well, as you might’ve guessed from the title, I’ve got some really exciting news for you guys today – I’m starting an email list, and I’ve partnered with Hannah from The Striped Plaid Co to host a giveaway to celebrate!
wait, hold on. What’s an email list again?
I’m glad you asked! 😉 An email list is a way to follow a blog, but it’s more personalized and there’s a ton of cool benefits that come with it. For instance, you’ll not only get a notification whenever a new post is up, but you’ll also get monthly updates, fun freebies (like wallpapers and clipart!), and even access to exclusive giveaways like this one!
If I’m already following your blog through WordPress, do I need to subscribe? Do I have to unfollow you on WordPress to subscribe?
One of the coolest parts about it is that you can follow through WordPress and through the email list – there’s no need to unfollow! And if you’re already following my blog through WordPress, you can subscribe to the email list too so you’ll get all the awesome benefits mentioned above (and you’ll be able to enter the giveaway, too!)
That sounds cool! What kinds of emails will i be getting, and how often?
Don’t worry, you’ll only be hearing from me once a week or less. You’ll be getting a notification email whenever there’s a new post, and at the end of each month, you’ll get a monthly update that includes exclusive content and freebies! And you can unsubscribe anytime if you ever change your mind.
Okay, hopefully you read all of that and didn’t just scroll straight down to the giveaway. XD Now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for…the giveaway!
You must have your parent’s permission to enter or be over 18.
You must be subscribed to the Diary of a Daydreamer email list (we will be checking!)
You’ll need a valid email address that we can contact you by, and you’ll need to (privately) share your shipping address so Hannah can send you the prizes!
Just fill out the form below! You can only enter once, but there are different bonus entries you can do to increase your chance of winning!
If the form’s not showing up, it’s probably because you’re in the WordPress reader and not on the actual site. If it’s still not working, you can use this link: https://emeraldpheonix.survey.fm/giveaway-entry-form
Thank you so much to Hannah for providing the prizes for the giveaway, you’re the best and I had so much fun working with you! And thank you so much to whoever entered and whoever signed up for the email list – I really appreciate it and I’m so happy! Once again, you can check out Hannah’s Etsy shop here. Thank you all so much for reading, and I’ll see you next weekend! You can expect the giveaway results in 2-3 weeks!
Did you enter the giveaway? What is your favorite item from The Striped Plaid Co?
Not only will you get access to exclusive content and benefits, you’ll get notified whenever there’s a new post, and recieve a monthly update that includes exclusive content and freebies! You can unsubscribe anytime if you ever change your mind.
Hey daydreamers! Merry (late) Christmas! I’m sorry my posts have been kinda all-over-the place this month so far. I’ve been crazy busy with filming my stop motion, traveling, dancing in the Nutcracker, and the Emmie Awards that I haven’t really had time to post something that wasn’t Emmies-related or a reblog!
Now that Christmas is officially over (waaaaah!!!!), I finally have some time to sit down and write a post! Today, I thought I’d share with you some of the things I got for Christmas. I’m really grateful for everything I got (and I’m not trying to brag or anything, I just thought you guys might like this post since you enjoyed my other hauls!)
Enough rambling/disclaimers/excuses – let’s jump right in!
First I got this cute little cookie kit from my Aunt! I love the llama on the front (and y’all know how much I LOVE LLAMAS). The cookie even has a little slit in it so you can put it on your mug. How cute is that? I haven’t tried it out yet, but it looks fun!
I also got 12 Before 13 by Lisa Greenwald, which is the sequel to my favorite fiction book ever, 11 Before 12 (besides the Hunger Games lol), from my aunt! I’ve already read it (haha) and it was soooo good. This series is my favorite!
Then I also got the third book in the series, 13 and Counting! I’m in the middle of this one right now and it’s really good so far! Kaylan and Ari are amazing characters, and I still can’t decide who I like better.
Now I have the whole series, yay!
I also got the third book in Maddie Ziegler’s series, The Competition! I’m obsessed with these books and I love Maddie, so I’m really excited to read this.
Lastly, I got the young readers edition of Misty Copeland’s autobiography, Life In Motion. I’ve read the non-adapted version and really loved it! The cover is so pretty on this one…Misty Copeland is my favorite ballerina. And that’s it for the books!
Why does my wall literally look gReEN in this picture?? The creepy thing is, this used to be the EXACT COLOR of my walls :-O
Next category: dancewear! My grandma took me shopping at the dance store that I got my pointe shoes at, and I got some leos there. The first one is this royal blue spagetti-strap, which is my level color so I can wear it in class! It fits perfectly and feels really comfortable.
I also got this cute black one! Since it’s not my level color, I can only wear it on Saturdays/Sundays and during rehearsals. I really love the thick black straps and the cut on this one! It’s super comfy too.
And last but not least of the dance stuff, I got new ballet shoes! I’ve had leather ballet shoes for quite some time now, and they were getting really dirty and old and gross. The leather was really annoying me, and all of my friends had switched to canvas shoes a million years ago! So I decided it was definitely time to switch to canvas and I’m soooo glad I did – they’re so much easier to point your foot in, and they’re really comfy and make turning a lot easier.
Next, some clothes I got from my mom! I’m OBSESSED with my new Simply Southern tie-dye hoodie. It’s SO COMFY ahhhhh! Every time I put this sweatshirt on, I literally start getting SLEEPY because it’s so comfy!
I also got this pink llama long-sleeve t-shirt from Simply Southern! Isn’t the llama so cute?
Then I also got this volleyball one, also from Simply Southern, but short-sleeved.
Moving on to some random stuff! I got another Hydro Flask, but this time a light blue, and it’s 8oz. I like how it’s so much smaller and lighter than my other giant one (it’s like 30oz!)! I love my giant one but it doesn’t fit in any cup holders, which is annoying, and it’s really hard to carry around. This one I can just stick in my backpack and be on the go!
I also got these cute grey Nike sneakers. All of my shoes are either super girly or trendy (like my pink slip-ons, black high-heel boots, and white Adidas sneakers), but these tennis shoes are more athletic. They’re super comfortable!
I also got some fun scrunchies in my stocking! Fun fact: I own 14 scrunchies after this. Which is nothing compared to my friends: one of them has over 60 and my BFF accidentally got 181 in packs from Amazon!
Oh, and I got these body butters from my aunt. The olive and coconut ones definitely smell the best! They feel really smooth on your skin. I haven’t really used them much, but they’re sooooo fun to smell *inhales scent*
Then my little sister got me this 2020 calendar from the Dollar Store! Isn’t it cute? 😛
I also got this calligraphy set from my Grandma! I didn’t show the whole kit here, but there’s also a ruler, t-square, and some fountain pens. The only problem is the instructions don’t exactly tell you how to put the cartridges into the fountain pens, so I’m having trouble getting started….😂
My mom also got me this cute pink purse from Franchesca’s, and I’m obsessed with it! I love the chevron pattern, and the color is my favorite, and the material feels really nice.
I got the Amandarachlee Doodle Planner from my mom and I’m so excited!! I got the pink (of course) and it’s so, so cute. I’m really excited to use it!
I got my first pair of Kendra Scott earrings from my aunt!! *squeals* I’m so excited to finally have Kendra Scott! All my friends and our moms are obsessed with it. I got these really cute bronze/gold ones that are in between dangles and studs, and I’m obsessed with them.
And second-to-last, I got…an Apple Watch! This one is Series 3, I believe. It’s silver with a white band from my Grandma! I really like it because I can play music, do workouts, track steps, check email, respond to texts, and see my blood sugar on it!
And finally…I GOT MY FIRST MAKEUP KIT!! I was so excited to open this on Christmas morning! It comes with three tiers of different makeup stuff: the first one has a bunch of different eyeshadows and some eyebrow cream, then the second has bronzer, blush, and highlighter, and the third has lip and brow pencils along with some lipstick and stuff like that.
Lastly, I got some brushes, a beauty blender, eyeshadow palate, and lip gloss. I’m really excited!
Whew! That was long. High-five to you if you read the whole thing! I hope y’all enjoyed taking a look at what I got for Christmas. Once again, I’m not trying to brag or make anybody feel bad, I’m just sharing something with you that I thought you guys would like to see!
See ya on New Year’s Eve for the grand reveal of the Emmie Awards winners!
What did you ask for Christmas?

The night before, I was so excited, I couldn’t even sleep. I kept waking up in the middle of the night, so excited for the day ahead that my mind wouldn’t turn off and just go to bed! But finally, morning came – and I woke up to the sound of my family singing the Happy Birthday Song.
Chewy also helped wake me up – haha! He’s so cute. I was so tired, but I couldn’t stop smiling!
My mom made this adorable set up with all of my presents and huge, golden “12” balloons!
Sorry this picture is a little blurry! Me, Unicorn, and Chewy checked out the presents before I started opening them.
Guess what? I GOT AIRPODS!!! I’m actually listening to them as I write this! I was sooooo excited and suprised to get these, and apparently so was Unicorn, since she decided to photobomb…
Chewy hung out in the piles of presents and wrapping paper, lol. I’ll definitely do a huge birthday haul post soon! I’m so thankful for all the awesome stuff I got.
But before I knew it, it was time to head to school! I’m the one in the back with my eyes closed, and Taylor is the other blonde one behind Barkleysblog123, the girl in the light grey hoodie, and the one with lime green shoes is my friend Sarabi (Code names). Since my school is really small – like reallllyyyyy small, only 40-something kids in my entire grade, on your birthday you can pass out little treats at lunch! I decided to do a fun gift bag with skittles and scrunchies – it was so funny, the moment I opened the bag all the girls swarmed around me and grabbed their favorite colors!
Messenger Kids filter, haha
Finally, school ended! Since I was going to the mall with my friend Taylor (from this video and this video on AGW!), we waited in the church right next to my school while Taylor had a Spanish class. I set up my airpods, listened to music, and read a little while we waited.
I also had this really weird JoJo Siwa snack thing. 😂 It had nothing to do with JoJo Siwa at all – for some reason they just slapped her face on the plastic seal and called it “Lunch Kitz”? Not a fan of JoJo, but at least the graham crackers were really good.
Pretty soon, Taylor finished her Spanish class! We changed out of our uniforms and headed off to the mall.
Taylor gave me this really cute card with LLAMAS on it! Funny story: When the card is folded up, it just says “You’re weird.” So I was like, gee, thanks, but then I opened it up and read, “Just as as me.” 🤦♀️ I’m so smart. *sarcasm* It was hilarious!
After walking through Dillard’s, we headed to Franchesca’s and looked at all the cute jewlry and accessories they had! I also got these adorable rose gold sunglasses from there! (And yes, we’re wearing shorts and shirts in October. This is Texas, people.)
After Franchesca’s, we shopped at Justice (and had a competition to see who could make the weirdest outfit!), Vera Bradley, the Children’s Place, Claire’s, and Bath and Body Works! I took a picture of this weird dinosaur hand sanitizer holder there. We loved smelling all of the weird hand soap scents! I had an alarm set on my phone for 5:56 PM, the exact moment I was born twelve years ago, and just after it went off, Taylor found this birthday cake hand sanitizer! I thought it was destiny…and then I thought it smelled horrible. 😂😂😂
Taylor took a picture of the reflection in my sunglasses, and I edited it and added bokeh! I think this photo looks REALLY cool. It reminds me of California or summer.
The food at the Cheesecake factory was really good! I ordered the mini cheeseburger sliders and french fries. Since it was getting late, we also got a cheesecake to go that I actually still haven’t eaten yet!
Haha, this picture looks really weird! Why are my hands blurry – and what’s with the light dot on my eye? 😂 Since it was my birthday, they gave me a free dessert – a layer of brownie, with vanilla ice cream and tons of whipped cream piled on top! The whole staff sang Happy Birthday, and it was awesome!
I actually had a lot of sugar that day – I got three candies in science class, two cake pops at lunch, half a cookie in study hall, a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup for a snack, and the dessert and the Cheesecake Factory! YOLO, haha.
After that, we headed home and added stickers to my new Hydro Flask. Taylor and I watched a penguin movie and stayed up until 12:30 talking! I had a ton of fun on my birthday – it was one of the most magical days ever, and I’m glad I could share it with you! I’ll definitely be doing a birthday haul, and NEXT WEEKEND I’M GETTING MY POINTE SHOES, AHHH!
What do you like to do on your birthday? Did you read the llama card like I did? Isn’t Chewy adorable? Your opinion on JoJo Siwa? What’s your favorite store at the mall?
