Hey daydreamers! This post has been at the top of my idea list for awhile now, and I’m finally getting around to doing it. As you can tell by the title, I’m doing a day in the life post, but quarantine edition! I also decided to try and be as productive as I could today (Wednesday, but you’ll see this post on Saturday!), and I guess that *sort of* actually happened? Anyway, let’s get straight into the post!

8:45 am – During quarantine/summer, I’ve been usually waking up from anywhere between 8:45-9:00, but sometimes my body wakes up at like 8:00 for no reason at all and I get so annoyed at myself because I can never fall back asleep. 😂
8:50 – I usually sit in bed for a little bit and open my window to let in the sunshine. I just spend a few minutes staring off into space and trying to process the weird dreams I had last night (last night’s strange adventures included invisible clones of my dad, brownies at a picnic, people who stole my change, and a Jonas Brothers concert. I have weird dreams. 😂)
8:55 – Then I tidy up my nightstand, desk, and also made my bed. I really like making my bed in the morning because it not only makes my room look a million times cleaner than it actually is, but it gets me in a productive mood and encourages me to follow the rest of my morning routine even when I really don’t want to!

9:02 – Once my bed is all made, I sit on my bed and spend some quiet time reading God’s word. I’m currently following a plan that has me reading a little bit of the New Testament and a little of the Old Testament, so today I read some of Mark, 1 Corinthians, Psalms, and Joshua! I like to highlight verses that I’d like to memorize or jump out at me.

9:31 – After I finished reading my Bible, I talked with my mom and the rest of my family for a little bit before I ate breakfast. Normally, I have these amazing bakery muffins for breakfast, but we ran out of those yesterday so I ended up eating these chocolate microwave muffins (I definitely should’ve made one, two was wayyyy too much) and some lemony tea. I watched a YouTube series on my laptop while I ate.

9:50 – After breakfast, I have to do my summer math packet. It’s pretty easy, just a lot of the same type of problems over and over and it gets really tedious. Also, I forgot how to do some stuff we learned from the first semester, oops, lol.
10:02 – Then I go onto my laptop and check my WordPress reader to read some blog posts and leave comments/likes! Lately I’ve been trying to leave a comment or at least a like on every post I read, because I know how happy getting comments makes me and I love to chat with y’all and read everyone’s amazing content! If someone I haven’t followed yet likes one of my posts, I usually will go and check out their blog, so if you want me to check out your blog feel free to “like” a post or leave a comment with your blog link!

10:30 – I thought we weren’t leaving for the bookstore until later, but it turned out we’re leaving now, so I had to get dressed and ready really fast! Today I’m wearing a pink t-shirt knotted with a hair tie plus the jean shorts I always wear and a scrunchie from Francesca’s.

11:15 – Then we went to a used bookstore! We’ve been waiting for it to open for forever, and I was so excited to finally go there since I finished Harry Potter and really needed some more books. We had to wear masks (as you can see lol) 😷 (Also, if you want to make the friendship bracelet I’m wearing, I just did a post on that last week!)
12:00 – We got home and ate some lunch that we picked up on the way back (from this awesome sub place that has the best chips ever) with my dad, who was taking his work-from-home lunch break.

12:30 – Then I spent a little bit reading some of the new books I got. I got four books: The Thing About Jellyfish by Ali Bejamin (my friend recommended it to me and I’m interested to read it!) the first two books in the Princess Academy series by Shannon Hale (I read the third book from the library and absolutely loved it) and a funny book by one of the YouTubers I watch sometimes (the Odd1sOut).

12:45 – Somehow, my sister convinced me to play Chess with her, so we played that for a little bit (and she beat me haha)

1:15-2:00 – Ironically, I worked on this very blog post for a little bit! I probably could’ve finished the whole thing, but then I’d catch up to the actual time and would end up typing about how I’m typing right now (😂) so I ended up stopping around 2:00.

2:06 – My insulin pump kept yelling at me that I’m low on insulin, so I had to change my cartridge (which is kinda like a printer cartridge, but instead of ink, it has my medicine in it. Whenever I eat carbs or my blood sugar goes above range, my pump will, well, pump the medicine through the tubing and into the little site on my leg and into my body. Cool, right?). Also, don’t worry, this gigantic needle doesn’t go into my skin, it just fills up the cartridge!

2:26 – After that, I didn’t really know what to do, so I worked on a pineapple bracelet I’m making for a friend and watched a bunch of YouTube videos. Until three, I was super bored and didn’t feel like working on my book or stretching or anything productive I could be doing with my time, so I pretty much just watched random YouTube videos and tried to come up with a color combo for a new bracelet.
3:15 – I spent a little bit practicing Spanish on my phone. I’ve been using the app Duolingo to learn Spanish during quarantine, and it’s been fun so far! It’s really motivating to try not to break my streak and pass the levels. Since I took drama/music and computer during elementary school instead of Spanish, I wanted to get some of the basics down during the summer so I’m not completely clueless in Spanish 1A next year in 7th!

3:30-4:15 – I read some of my new books for a while and then I made this recipe from Pinterest that was supposed to be a Starbucks Frappuccino, but it ended up tasting more like chocolate milk? It was really good, but it didn’t taste like Starbucks.

4:15-5:00 – I worked on this post a little bit more, looked at my phone while I sipped the drink I made, and I also lettered a fun bookmark with a verse on it!
5:00-5:30 – Once again, I got totally confused on when we were leaving and thought dance was at 6:30, but my mom came in and asked why I wasn’t ready and I remembered it was at 5:45 today! 🤦♀️ I had to rush super fast to get my hair in a bun, leotard, tights, and shorts on, dinner eaten, and pointe shoe bag ready to go!

5:45-7:15 – Today we had pointe class! I got new pointe shoes last week and I love them so much, they look amazing on my feet and I didn’t even have to break them in! My new ones are Mirella Whisper in size 4, with 1 X. I’m so glad because my first pair got so small and they were a little too wide! We also got our recital costumes today, but we don’t get to actually wear them onstage since the recital got canceled from COVID-19.
7:15-8:15 – Then we had contemporary! We did a really fun combo to “Stuck with U” by Ariana Grande & Justin Beiber, and now that song is stuck in my head. 😂 It was a really hard but good class, though!
8:30(ish) – Around this time, I got home from dance and took a shower. After my shower, I changed into pajamas (I usually wear some comfy shorts or pajama bottoms with a t-shirt to bed), had some dessert, and brushed my hair/teeth.

9:15-10:45 – This is the time where I just read in my bed until it’s around 10:45-11:00! I really like this part of the day because it gives me some time to relax myself for bed.
10:45 – Goodnight!

And that’s it for today’s post! This was super fun to take pictures and log my day, and I hope you enjoyed seeing what a day in my life (quarantine style!) looks like. Overall, I think I ended up having a pretty normal day, not necessarily super productive, but I got most of this post done!

I think that’s a pretty productive day. I mean, even doing things that are just things you want to do can be productive.
Ooh, I’m glad your dance has started up! And I’m really glad you get to go to camp.
BOOKS! I’ve kind of not been as motivated to read lately? Idk. But I think thost books seem pretty cool. Have you read Keeper of the Lost Cities? That’s what I’m reading now, and it’s pretty good.
I enjoyed seeing your day!

That makes sense! I think I got a lot done in the morning, but in the afternoon I got really bored haha so I just did a bunch of random things, but what you said definitely makes sense.
Me too! I was super scared that I wasn’t going to get to go, but then they said it would still happen like normal, and I was SO excited. But then they went and changed a lot of things to make it safer, like we’re mainly going to stay with our cabin group and no specialties/theme nights/or large groups, which is sad! I’m still grateful I get to go though and dance has been so nice to have something to do!
Ooh, I really want to read KOTLC! I have the first book on hold at the library but I need to remind my mom to pick it up lol. It sounds good!
Thanks for reading! 😀

Yeah. That tends to be how it is.
Aw! It would be sad to not have those sort of gatherings at camp. But, yeah, at least you’ll get to go.
Yeah, it’s pretty good! I hope you like the first book. I’m only on book 2, but I like it a lot so far.
No problem!

If you don’t mind me asking, what so you use to design your graphics, Emmie?

Thanks! I totally don’t mind! I use Canva to design my featured images, headers, graphics etc and the ballerina clipart from my header and the flower graphics I bought from a website called Pretty Little Lines. 😀

Sorry, I didn’t see your comment until now, it somehow got put into spam! I’m not currently making money from my blog, but I would love to partner with brands someday! Right now I’m trying to focus on growing my audience, improving my design and photography skills, and practice with some small businesses. 🙂

Oh, that’s okay!
Wow, good luck, Emmie! You can do it. How cool would it be if we start earning money out of our blogs, right? I’m also still focusing to build and grow my blog. I just started last month, there’s still a lot to learn haha! What kind of business do you plan to practice with?

My Daily routine is super duper productive up until about 4 o’clock, then from 4 o’clock to 11 I sit around and do absolutely nothing.
However …
I enjoyed this. I watched Chicken Girls for a bit too.

I can relate! That’s kind of what I’m like except after lunch to like 4 I don’t know what to do with myself and then I sorta get back into the swing of things since I have to eat dinner and go to dance and stuff. 😃 Glad you enjoyed! I didn’t really like the first season but I heard it gets better so I’m going to finish it after I watch the new Alexa & Katie season. 😊

XD yeah. I’m taking this interesting IT class though, so my days have gotten (just a little) more productive. Also you’re welcome.
And, I’m up to season three and so far I’m not really liking it either.
