Summer Hairstyle Ideas! (Part 1)

Hey daydreamers! Lately I’ve been obsessed with trying out different ways to style my hair. During the school year, I mostly just wore it down and occasionally would do something with it. As part of my summer bucket list, I thought it would be fun to learn some new hairstyles that I can do throughout the summer and for the upcoming school year!

Today I’m going to be showing y’all a few super summery, cute, and easy hairstyles that only take a few minutes to do! I’ll try my best to explain the steps, but some of these are easier done than said. 😛 Let’s get into the hairstyles!

Everyday Makeup Routine!

Hey daydreamers! I can’t believe I only have three weeks left of school, plus finals. Summer’s actually on the way!

I was thinking of what to post this week, and I remember a while ago I did an everyday makeup tutorial on here. I thought it would be fun to update that with the makeup I actually wear everyday now! I love putting on makeup and usually wear a little bit every day, unless I’m just staying at home, then I might take a break. Also, I am in no way a pro at makeup, I have no idea what I’m doing. Let’s get right into the post!

First I’ll start with the bareMinerals foundation. Sometimes I skip this step, but I’ll put it on if I’m feeling it. 😉

Next I use this concealer I borrowed from my mom.

I also use Burt’s Bee’s lip balm which is the best quality lip balm I’ve ever used! I usually add a touch of lip gloss, but I forgot to do that.

Sometimes I’ll go in with some eyeshadow from the Maddie x Morphe Imagination Palatte! I use the Butterfly Fantasy shade as a base, then go in with a mix of M3 and Latte in the crease. And I finish it off with the shade Angel for a bit of shimmer.

After that, I curl my eyelashes.

Then I do mascara – I use the Nuetrogena Healthy Lengths one.

Finally, I use this brow filler from Beauty Counter to fill in my eyebrows.

And that’s it! Short and sweet, and really easy to put on!

This post was so fun ot mkae! Let me know your makeup routine in the comments below. Have a great week!

THIS WEEK’S SHOUTOUT GOes TO Leisl Robbins! Thanks for commenting!

Do you use any of these products? What does your kmakeup routine look like?

Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas!

Hey daydreamers! Y’all really seem to like my fashion posts, and I really enjoy making them! I thought since Valentine’s day is tomorrow, it would be super fun to share some outfit inspo for Valentine’s day. I love how these outfits are super versatile for what you’re doing on that day – comfy for staying home and watching rom-coms (haha me), cute for a Galentine’s party, or put-together for church. And, of course, they’re all pink and red for the holiday spirit! 😉

I’ll try to say where I got the items, but I don’t always remember, sorry. Without further introduction, let’s get into the outfit ideas!

Ideas & Inspo for a Self-Care Day! 😌

Hey daydreamers! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a good pamper day. On the weekends you’ll probably find me with a bath bomb, face mask, and a candle, soaking up the good vibes. XD

It’s really important to put others before yourself, and it’s so rewarding to serve others. However, you can totally still indulge in a relaxing day to give yourself a nice break and reset for the week!

Often it’s hard to find a good time to do a “self-care day” since life is so busy. You really don’t have to do these things all at once – sometimes I’ll decide to have a long shower or do a face mask on a random Thursday! You can totally sprinkle these things throughout the week, take a nice afterschool break, or save it all for the weekend. It’s totally up to you!

I’m so excited for this post, so let’s get into the ideas for your relaxing day! Also, this post is inspired by Christina and Camera and Girls’ Life magazine. 😉

Hey daydreamers! Welcome back to another Blogmas post! Today, I thought I’d share some fun nail art ideas that I found on Pinterest to give y’all some inspiration for Christmas! Some of these I’d never be able to accomplish lol, but they’re still really pretty to look at and give me some fun ideas. I hope this post does the same for you!

All of the original pins can be found here: pinterest.com/girlonpointe10/nails/

I hope y’all enjoyed this little nail collage! Hopefully it gave you some ideas. If you liked any of these, make sure to pin them! See you tommorow! 😉

Do you paint your nails often? What’s your favorite color to paint them? Have you ever gotten fake nails before (I haven’t, but I’ve done stick-ons)? Which idea is your favorite?

What to Ask for Christmas: Wishlist Ideas for Teens! (+Giveaway Winner)

disclaimer: this post is NOT sponsored!

Hey daydreamers! I hope that everyone had a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving! 😉 I’ve been spending this break getting holiday posts scheduled for the blog, so I’m actually writing this before Thanksgiving happened yet. How has everyone been doing?

Raise your hand if you’re as excited about Christmas as I am!! 🙋‍♀️ For me, Christmas starts the day after Thanksgiving – no sooner or later! I might start listening to music a little bit before then, but not before Thanksgiving break at least. 😂

Right now is about that time of year when every single relative is asking for wishlist ideas. If you’re anything like me, you have this long running list of things you want throughout the year, but forget everything you’ve ever thought of when it’s actually time to ask for things! 😂 So, I’ve gathered some ideas for teens/tweens to ask for, and this also serves as the *perfect* gift guide for any teenage girl in your life. Let’s get right to it!

kendra scott jewelry

{https://www.kendrascott.com/jewelry/categories/necklaces/elisa-gld.html?dwvar_elisa-gld_stoneColor=682&cgid=necklaces#start=9}

My friends and I are all obsessed with Kendra Scott! I only have one pair of earrings from them, but my friends have these beautiful pendant necklaces. This item is definitely going on my wishlist this year, and you can totally ask for any jewelry from there! They have a ton of different rings, necklaces, and earrings in so many different styles and colors.

camp trunk

{https://everythingsummercamp.com/collections/camp-trunks/products/happy-camper-trunk?variant=12372484096115}

Okay, this item might seem a little out of place at first, but if you go to a summer camp like me these footlocker trunks are a must! I’ve been wanting one forever, but they’re a little expensive to just buy for camp. Christmas is the perfect opportunity to ask for a nice footlocker trunk, and they even come in fun colors and designs!

pura vida

{https://www.puravidabracelets.com}

I’m a huge fan of this brand and love all of the jewelry from here! While Kendra Scott has more classic, elegant jewelry, Pura Vida has a beachy, summery aesthetic. They’re known for their bracelets, but they have a ton of cute rings, necklaces, and earrings too! I’m definitely adding some rings from here to my wishlist, and any teen girl would *love* something from this brand.

makeup

Not everyone is a makeup person, but if you’re into it, you should totally ask for makeup for Christmas! I’m asking for the Imagination Palate from Maddie Ziegler’s collab with Morphe and Glossier Boy Brow. Glossier is a great brand, or you could just ask for a Sephora or Ulta gift card to shop for your own!

phone case

If you have a phone, you could ask for a phone case! There’s a ton of cute ones out there from different brands like Loopy and Casetify, and there’s so many prints, colors, and kinds you can get. I love this cow print one!

dancewear

If you’re a dancer, Christmas is *the* perfect time to get all the leotards you’ve been wanting! I only have three leos right now, so I really want to get some fun colorful ones for Saturdays and some basics for class. A great place to shop for leos is Discount Dance or a local dance shop! More ideas for dancers are foot stretchers, ballet skirt, or trashbag warmups.

polaroid printer

{https://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-Mini-Link-Smartphone-Printer/dp/B07XM91NSZ/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=polaroid%2Bprinter&qid=1605978823&sr=8-2&th=1}

I love the idea of a polaroid printer! I have a polaroid camera, but it’s hard to get the picture exactly right. There’s tons of photos on my phone that I wish I could turn into polaroids for my bulletin board, and this printer solves that problem! It also comes in pretty colors like pink, black, gold, and white.

FIBO STEEL Earring Set from Amazon

{https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0823JKF6C/?coliid=I1VA81NNEKJI9N&colid=16GTUFKRX6ON7&psc=1}

I recently bought this set from Amazon with my own money, and I love it! I know there’s already a lot of jewelry on this list, but I’m kind of obsessed with this and I’ve been trying out a new earring each day. I love how they all match, so you could mix and match and looks great if you have double piercing! One thing I would say is that they feel a little more cheap than if you would pay $19 for one pair instead of 12, but it’s definitely a great deal and the perfect way to build your earring collection!

cute face masks

We wear masks to protect ourself and others, but why not look fashionable while you’re doing that? XD This Christmas I definitely want to get some fun face masks, maybe ones with a floral or Christmas theme in cute patterns and colors! Hannah from The Striped Plaid makes some adorable ones on her Etsy shop, so make sure to check that out! (Once again, not sponsored – I just love her shop! 😁)

Before we go, I have a quick announcement! Do y’all remember my giveaway with Chaudenade from before Halloween? (Psst…my code EMMIE20 is still available for 20% off your purchase through December 1 😉) Our giveaway policy is that the winner must respond within two weeks, and the winner that was chosen hasn’t responded. So, I decided to pick another winner!

A quick reminder what the winner will be getting: Four Chaudenade stickers, a bonus sticker to make up for the fact that two of them are Halloween (lol), some fun little surprises including Washi tapes, candy, and more! And the winner is…*drumroll please*

LIBERTY ABIGAIL!

Congrats, Liberty! I’ll send you an email ASAP about your prize! Make sure to check out her blog linked above. Thanks again to Chloe for sponsoring this giveaway, even if it’s a little late 😛

Thank you so much for reading this! Once again, I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that everyone will have an awesome holiday season! I hope that this list helped you either pick out gifts for a teen girl or figure out what to ask for as a teen girl. See you next week! 😉

How was everyone’s Thanksgiving? When does Christmas start for you? What are you asking for Christmas? Did you add any of these items to your wishlist?

Get Ready With Me For Cheer!

{make sure to view this post on the blog to see the formatting if you’re in the wordpress reader}

You can use the code EMMIE20 to get 20% off your purchase at Chaudeande through December 1! (Excluding the mystery sticker pack)

Hey daydreamers! I’m super excited for this week’s post! I’m going to be showing you guys how I get ready for cheer, including how I do my hair and makeup for a game. I just had my first basketball game the other day, and I took some pictures while I got ready to show y’all basically how I do it!

Basketball is a lot different from football – it’s definitely a lot more chill, the cheerleaders don’t do as much and halftime isn’t a very big deal. There’s also a lot less people. Since this was my first time, I got ready as if I was going to a football game (minus curling my hair), but I think next time I’ll definitely do less makeup. Anyway, let’s get right into it!

For this cheer hairstyle, you’re obviously going to need a hairbrush, multiple hair ties, lots of hairspray, and your bow.

Start off by just brushing your hair to get it smooth and easy to style. Next – this is the most important part, so you might need to try this a few times! – draw a line with your fingers from your temples to your hair, like I did in the picture above. Keep going with the line until you’ve separated the top half of your hair from the bottom.

Next, I like to take a scrunchie to hold my hair in place temporarily as I brush out all of the bumps, smooth it over with water, and brush it again. Then I’ll take out the scrunchie and try to get it higher. I keep repeating this a bunch of times until I’m happy with the height and smoothness of the ponytail.

Once I’m happy with it, I secure it with a hair tie.

(Haha my expression in this picture XD) This is one of the most important steps – I make sure to spray it with a ton of hairspray! This holds it up while stunting, jumping, tumbling, cheering, and dancing throughout a long football game and smooths away any flyaways. My trick is to smooth it with water first, and then spray it with hairspray so it stays smooth the whole time!

Time for my personal favorite part – adding the bow! Our bow is so pretty, it’s one of our school colors with sort of an ombre rhinestone effect. I definitely miss the pink breast cancer awareness bows we did in October, but this one is super cute too!

It’s probably best to wait until the last second to put in your bow so it doesn’t get messed up, but I was really impatient and went ahead and put it in after I finished my hairstyle lol. Make sure to add another hair tie on top, or it’s going to fall out! Also double-check that you didn’t put it in on top of the other ponytails, or else it’ll be really floppy and we don’t want that. 😛 If you need to, add some bobby pins to secure it in place.

Now that hair is finished, we can move on to makeup! This is really personal preference – there’s not really a right or wrong way to do it, unless your team has to wear the same color lipstick or eyeshadow or something. Some girls on my team like to wear a ton of makeup, and some wear an everyday amount or none at all. I personally enjoy doing mine and I think it helps define your eyes a lot (especially wearing a mask this year!), so I like to do a little bit more than normal but not as much as I would for stage makeup.

First, I’m going to fill in my brows using this taupe shade from an Ulta kit thingy I got last year. If you have thick eyebrows you can skip this step and just brush them out, but mine are really, really thin so I like to fill mine in just a little bit.

Next, my favorite part of makeup, eyeshadow! I like to do a warm brown look using this Ulta palate. I used the Candlelight, Amour, Midnight, and Lavish shade in that order. My friends insist on using their fingers to apply eyeshadow, but I’m obsessed with this Morphe brush, so find what works best for you!

Argh, sorry, this picture is not focused! After eyeshadow I go in with a few coats of mascara. I go a little bit darker than I would everyday using the Nuetrogena Healthy Lengths Volume mascara. I’ll also go in with a light coat of this random old concealer I found in my mom’s drawer (she said I could keep it since it’s almost empty haha) under my eyes. It doesn’t make a huge difference but helps even out my dark circles a little bit.

Finally, I’ll use some of this amazing Rose Salve on my lips and cheeks!

Now that makeup and hair is done, all that’s left to do is change into my uniform!

Before I leave, I’ll usually have a snack and get all of my stuff together (poms, cheer bag, water bottle, diabetes supplies, change of clothes). Ideally, I would stretch for about ten minutes to get warmed up and I’d also go over every cheer and chant so they’re fresh in my mind, but that doesn’t always happen. 😛

Thank you so much for reading! I loved making this post, and I hope it helps you with cheer hair and makeup or it was entertaining to read. You guys seem to like these types of GRWM posts, so I hope you enjoyed this one! Should I do more cheer posts, like a what’s in my cheer bag or things I wish I knew before I started cheer?

Should I do more posts about cheer? Have you ever done cheer before? Do you like makeup or not? Opinion on hairspray (the literal glue that holds your life together or something to be avoided at all costs)? Would you rather be a blackspot, base, or flyer?

What I Would Wear To… + Giveaway Winner!

{make sure to view this post on the blog to see the formatting if you’re in the wordpress reader}

You can use the code EMMIE20 to get 20% off your purchase at Chaudeande through December 1! (Excluding the mystery sticker pack)

Hey daydreamers! I originally wasn’t going to get a post up this week, but today I finished homework early and had some free time to work on a post! On Pinterest, I see a ton of story pins on my feed. It’s really popular right now to make a story pin featuring “What I would wear…” to things like your wedding day, a pool party, on your birthday, etc. using outfits from Pinterest. I decided that would be a super fun blog post idea and it would be quick enough to get up in a day! I’ve put together outfits for five different occasions from Pinterest, and I made a board so you guys can easily save anything you like here. And stay ’till the end to find out the giveaway winner!

what I would wear…on Christmas morning

Since it’s Christmas morning and there isn’t any time to do a complicated hairstyle or anything, I would just leave my hair down!

On Christmas morning, I would wear this comfy-looking green hoodie! I love the oversized look of it.

I would wear it with the pants from these flannel pajamas.

I would definitely mix up these cute fuzzy socks!

what I would wear to…summer camp

I would do my hair in these messy dutch braids. I can sorta do them myself, but last year at camp there was one girl in our cabin who was amazing at them, so I always asked her to do them for me. 😛

I would wear this summery Pura Vida necklace with it.

This one is one of my favorites! To summer camp, I would wear a Simply Southern T-Shirt like this cute turtle one. This type of shirt is totally a summer staple here in the South!

I would pair it with the classic black Nike Dri-Fit shorts, because they’re super comfy and go with anything!

Another summer camp classic – I’d wear this outfit with these gray Birkenstocks! I really want some Birkenstocks for Christmas, but since they’re so expensive it probably wouldn’t be worth it because my feet are still growing and they wouldn’t fit in a year.

Finally, I would complete this summer-camp look with a friendship bracelet and Pura Vida bracelet on my wrist!

what I would wear…on my wedding day

I know this day is super far away, but who doesn’t like to daydream about their wedding dress? 😛

This hairstyle is SO gorgeous, and I love the flowers incorporated into it! I love those waves, and the twist looks so effortless and elegant. I would totally love to do my hair like this on my wedding day!

I love this dress, too! I really like the neckline and the way the fabric looks on the bodice, and the full, layered skirt looks so beautiful!

Finally, you’ve got to wear your engagement ring on your wedding day, right? This one is super pretty and I love the rose gold accents!

what I would wear…to the beach

I love this pretty half-up hairstyle with the colorful bandana scrunchie! The sunglasses are also super cute and totally match the beachy vibe.

This sundress is super pretty and I love the buttons down the front! It’s a little short, but I would wear it over my bathing suit as a cover-up to and from the beach.

I would wear this pink and striped bathing suit! It looks kind of high cut though, I would want it to be longer or I would wear shorts over it.

Finally, I’d just pair it with some random flip-flops. XD

what I would wear…to homecoming

This one is my favorite that I put together, so I decided to save it for last! This week is homecoming week for the high-schoolers at my school, so I came up with the outfit I could wear when I’m old enough to go.

I love this wavy half-up look that’s similar to the wedding hairstyle from earlier!

I love these dainty pearl earrings that match the gold pearl necklace.

I would definitely wear a dress like this! It’s a pretty shade of pink that wouldn’t wash out my (very pale XD) self, and I like the over-the-shoulder look and sweetheart neckline. It looks like a pretty good length, I would definitely not want a super short dress!

I would use this white and gold purse that matches the jewelry to carry my phone, diabetes supplies, etc.

Finally, I really like these white heels!

Time to announce the giveaway winner! Since I made y’all read that whole post before I tell you, I won’t make you scroll through a million dots this time. 😉 First off, a reminder of what the winner will be getting:

Three adorable, handmade stickers from Chloe’s new Etsy shop Chaudeande! And the winner is…

ASHA B.!

Congrats, Asha! I’ll send you an email ASAP about your prize! Make sure to check out her blog linked above and leave her a big 🥳 emoji in the comments! Thank you so much to Chloe for sponsoring this giveaway – I really enjoyed working with you and thanks for supporting my blog!

Thank you so much for reading this post! I love you guys so much and I’ll see you next week. Sorry I never got around to posting last week, but Halloween was so much busier than I thought it would be!

Would you wear any of these outfits? Which one is your favorite? What would you wear to summer camp, homecoming, a beach trip, etc.?
