Heatless Overnight Beach Waves Tutorial!

Hey daydreamers! How has your week been? I’m super happy because I got to go swimming a lot and see my friends a few times! The beach is finally open, and we’re going to spend a day there on Monday and I’m super excited! I love the look of beach waves, and I think they look so summery and carefree and also just really cute.

I’ve been spending a lot of time on Pinterest lately (if you want some inspiration, you can check out mine!) and I stumbled across this cool hair hack. I decided to give it a try, and I’m going to be showing you guys how to do it today! It looks adorable for pictures and video calls. Let’s get straight into the tutorial!

First, get your hair damp or wet. If you take showers at night, it works super well to dry off your hair a little bit so it’s not dripping. If not, spray it with some water or run it under the sink – just get it pretty wet! Then brush out all of the tangles.

Once you’ve gotten your hair wet and brushed out all the tangles, separate it into two equal sections.

Next, take a bathrobe tie and put it over your head like a headband.

Take a small section of hair and bring it over the bathrobe tie and wrap it around to bring it back to the front.

Keep on repeating that, but each time add in a little more hair.

Once you’ve run out of hair to add on, twist it with the bathrobe tie as far as your hair goes and tie it off with a hair tie!

Repeat on the other side, and you’ve completed the first half! Then there are two ways to finish it:

the first way

Twist both sides super tight.

Then bring both sides up over your head – it looks super weird, I know! 😂 I was laughing when I took this pic.

Next, tie the two braids together in a little bow. Again, it looks super weird, but this is probably the most comfortable way to sleep in it.

the second way

For this second way, you will need two scrunchies!

Twist one side of your hair super tight.

Twist it in a circle to make a Leia bun and secure it with one of your scrunchies!

Repeat on the other side, and you’re done with the second way! It’s really a matter of personal preference which one you do, I usually do the first one since it’s more comfortable but it’s totally up to you!

The final step is to go to sleep! When you wake up the next morning, take out all of the scrunchies, hair ties, and bathrobe tie, and you’ll have pretty waves!

These beach waves look super cute in a half-up half-down hairstyle or just down! Not everyone’s hair is alike, so yours might look slightly different from mine. If you want, add some hairspray and gently brush out any tangles.

It only takes about five minutes the night before, and the end result is cute, effortless, and super summery! And the best part is that it takes absolutely zero heat to create this hairstyle so you won’t damage your hair.

  1. Awwww. You look pretty with longer hair! (Is it longer? It looks longer……). Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for a way to curl my hair bc I don’t have a curling iron.

  2. Hi!! Wow, thats so pretty!! But, trust me, I’m a surfer and you don’t want this hair!! You could make a secure bun with no ties just with you hair!! Cool post!!

    1. Thanks! I agree, this style is super cute for everyday wear but it’s more practical to tie your hair up if you’re actually surfing at the beach. 😉 Thank you, I’m glad that you enjoyed it!
